History of Stones River Outreach Ministries
The Stones River Outreach Ministry is blessed and proud to have a rich heritage of sound believers and laborers in Christ. The church in its infancy was started with Pastor William Thomas Gray Sr. in 2003. The growing congregation was able to secure the NHC nursing facility for worship services. This was just the beginning of many victories and lessons in the Lord. The bible study group met regularly on Tuesday evenings at Southeast Baptist church on Minerva Dr. in Murfreesboro, TN
In 2005, Stones River Outreach outgrew NHC nursing facility and was offered to use Rucker Memorial Chapel in Murfreesboro, TN. as its next worship center. In the meantime, the congregation continued to grow in number and in the Lord. The outreach of the ministry continued throughout the city and community.
Also, in the same year the Lord allowed the Stones River Outreach family to purchase 5 acres of land on Old Nashville Highway in Murfreesboro. A neighboring land owner at the time, wanted Pastor Gray and the congregation to have first offer on buying some of the property.
Shortly afterward, the Architect developed the plans for the new worship center. Pastor Gray, along with the congregation, agreed to make the building multi-purpose so it will be useful for the community.
Today, in 2006, 1 more acre of land has been purchased on Old Nashville Highway and 2007 has been designated for ground breaking. The Lord is truly blessing the congregation of Stones River Outreach Ministries. And it is our desire to please God as we minister to the needs of the community.
